Nod to Grunge and the Grunge Effect

DSC_0472_LQ Happy Monday Everyone!

I’m sure most of you can relate when you stand in front of your closet and think ” I have nothing to wear!”   It was one of those days for me so I reached for my white tee from Club Monaco (it’s been on high rotation along with the black.)  I decided to use it as the basis of my outfit. Can never go wrong with a basic =)  Do you guys have any go-to favorites?

My fashion choices usually depends on my mood, for this outfit I felt lazy and wanted to go with a more laid-back look that is both comfortable and edgy.  Nothing speaks the “grunge effect” better than ripped jeans because it’s so effortless. One of my favorite designers Alexander Wang describes the grunge effect best,  ”Anyone can get dressed up and glamorous, but it is how people dress in their days off that are the most intriguing”.

I got the one in Taupe Snake but they also have one in Black and Gold (See link below). I felt it was the perfect opportunity to take them out for a spin plus they add a final touch to finishing up my outfit!

I went to go see Pacific Rim last weekend and I absolutely LOVED it! I was a bit doubtful at first but to my surprise I actually enjoyed watching robots fighting godzilla-like monsters. There was more to it than just the fighting as there was actually a really great story line underlying the entire movie.

Thanks so much for reading!
